About The Centre
The Computer Centre of Vidyasagar University, established in 1998,
plays a pioneer role in disseminating the knowledge in computer and its
application among the peoples of different communities in and around the rural
areas of west Bengal where the University is situated. It has crossed a number
of milestones and continue to increase the activities in new areas of
application. It provides full computational facilities to the Faculty members,
Research Scholar, and students of the University. It provides opportunities to
learn computer and its application to faculty members, research scholars,
students, staff of the University and Colleges by opening a numbers regular
courses, training courses, organizing seminar, workshops for them. Through these
training programme it is generating part of revenue. To provide industry
oriented teaching to the students in one hand and to generate revenue on the
other, it has chosen a collaborative approach with the IT companies. The
Computer Centre of Vidyasagar University has opened a few Post graduate diploma
courses in collaboration with CMC and 1-yr diploma course and Diploma/
certificates courses for various categories of students. It has taken an
initiative to develop projects for all the affiliated colleges in developing
Websites and Application software on payment basis. It is maintaining the Campus
Wide LAN (Optical Fiber based GBIC) with 400 nodes throughout the campus and
Providing the Internet Services and looking after the UGC-Infonet Programme.
